Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowerHer Pathway
EmpowerHer Pathway project is targeted ontraining and empowerment initiative targeting 15-20-year-old girls and young women in high-density suburbs of Harare, Zimbabwe. The project directly addresses the root causes of increased teenage pregnancies poverty and lack of economic opportunity by equipping participants with marketable skills in beadwork, Ankara accessory creation, and baking and pastries. By providing these skills, the project aims to reduce economic vulnerability, decrease the incidence of transactional sex, and empower young women to achieve financial independence.
About the Millennium Fellow
Shiynsa Christine Burinyuy is a passionate and devoted undergraduate Occupational Therapy Student at the University of Zimbabwe. She was born in the North West region of Cameroon and is currently studying in Harare Zimbabwe. She has always had a deep passion for empowering individuals with disabilities, and dedicates her efforts to helping them live independently and realize their dreams. Shiynsa believes in the transformative power of support and advocacy, striving to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves. Her journey reflects a commitment to fostering inclusion and enhancing the quality of life for all.
