Arab Forum for Sustainable Development

The Arab Forum for Sustainable Development (AFSD) is the primary regional mechanism for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda) in the Arab region. It brings together Arab Governments and other stakeholders to discuss progress, review national and regional experiences, and consider the latest developments and implementation mechanisms related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the national and regional levels. The AFSD outcome document formally delivers the voice of the region to the global High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), held annually in New York. The report of AFSD sets out key messages emanating from the regional multistakeholder dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of implementing the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in Arab countries. In line with 2026 HLPF, AFSD 2026 will discuss “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for a sustainable future for all”.
