Pace Against Waste
Project Overview
Pace Against Waste is a student-led initiative that promotes environmental awareness and education, advocating for a more sustainable campus by reducing single-use plastic consumption. The project encourages individual behavioral change through informative social media content and flyers that guide sustainable decision-making. Since its launch, it has also supported practical action by making reusable utensil sets available for purchase on campus, reinforcing long-term shifts toward responsible consumption and waste reduction within the university community.
Project Impact
The project became known on campus through advocacy and education efforts. Reusable utensils became available to buy at Pace, with all 60 sets sold within two weeks. Pace Against Waste gained 55 followers and reached 1,254 accounts since September. The project engaged students and staff, planned a workshop through Pace’s Center for Well-being, and gained credibility after being quoted by the Associated Press on climate advocacy.
