The Healthy Use Initiative
Project Overview
The Healthy Use Initiative is a health promotion campaign that encourages the safe, responsible, and beneficial use of medicines, substances, and health products. The project focuses on preventing misuse and abuse through awareness, education, and the promotion of positive lifestyle choices. By equipping individuals with accurate information and practical guidance, it aims to foster informed decision-making, reduce health risks, and support overall well-being within the community.
Project Impact
At the start of the Millennium Fellowship, the project aimed to address drug misuse among children and youth aged 6–22 through awareness and education. It conducted interactive outreach sessions in a primary school, educating students on the forms, causes, and risks of substance abuse, while encouraging active participation. Additionally, the initiative leveraged social media, particularly WhatsApp, to disseminate information on health impacts, reaching wider student communities and promoting informed, preventive behaviors.
