Wellness Over Weakness Initiative

Project Overview

Wellness Over Weakness Initiative is a group project dedicated to strengthening mental health and addressing substance-related challenges, while contributing meaningfully to the achievement of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). It focuses on tackling issues such as drug addiction and other mental health struggles that affect millions globally. The project aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage individuals to seek help by connecting them to free therapy and counseling services. Through education, advocacy, and support, Wellness Over Weakness Initiative empowers people to prioritize their mental well-being and build resilience against life’s challenges.

Project Impact

During the Millennium Fellowship, the Wellness Over Weakness Initiative created meaningful impact by promoting mental health awareness and addressing substance-related challenges among young people. The project successfully engaged approximately 100 secondary school students through an interactive session that raised awareness, reduced stigma, and encouraged help-seeking behavior. A key achievement was the partnership with Arogi Trauma Care Foundation, which strengthened access to professional mental health support and counseling services. While the initiative effectively met its core objectives, it highlighted the need for stronger post-engagement strategies, such as providing wellness resources, to reinforce learning and ensure a more lasting impact.
