" As a Millennium Fellow, I am excited to work with a diverse and passionate group of like-minded individuals eager to promote the Sustainable Development Goals, like SDG 3. I am particulaly passionate about SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being because I believe healthcare is a human right and life expectancy should NOT depend on one’s income/wealth, race, immigration status, location, and education. I would like to thank UNAI and Team MCN for this opportunity to work on projects that I'm passionate about while connecting with other Fellows to develop innovative solutions to address community needs. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Community Health at Cardinal Free Clinics

My Millenium Fellowship project focuses specifically on how the Cardinal Free Clinics can implement community health programs within the free clinics to make our clinic offerings more. This includes identifying data-driven needs and shortcomings within the clinic through surveys and data analysis, developing projects throughout all parts of the clinic to address clinic gaps and shortcomings, and collaborating with the community and community health partners to understand the needs of the community and our patients.

About the Millennium Fellow

Edward Tran is a fourth-year at Stanford University pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Management, Science, and Engineering concurrently. Interested in the intersection between health and engineering, Edward hopes to leverage technology to improve healthcare accessibility and address health inequities. He is a pre-clinical volunteer and the Community Health Chair at Cardinal Free Clinics, an organization focused on providing culturally appropriate medical care to underserved patients. After participating in a community health study abroad in Oaxaca, Edward developed an interest in global health and aspires to be a physician where he can advocate for underserved patients.
