Millennium Fellowship Project: The Art of Destruction
The project was to overall contribute to the awareness of the Russia-Ukraine war, and create events that would highlight the importance of supporting Ukrainians. The major event I held was an art exhibition, showcasing a Ukrainian artist who had to flee his country, and now live in the UK. I presented his artwork at my school, provided authentic Ukrainian food, and gathered international students and staff who were born there. I promoted the event immensely, and had a pretty large head count to raise awareness. It was also sponsored by the Economics Society, so many more staff and students showed up. Moreover, with the help of my Ukrainian dean Anna Shostya, PhD, I attended a virtual event and took many students, to speak in an international forum with Kharkiv University in Ukraine. This was an economics development seminar that I collected students for, to also raise awareness and promote the future steps of Ukraine. Moreover, as Vice President of my club Economics Society, I raised awareness by having Ukrainian economists come and speak, to educate my university further on awareness and special contributions.
