Millennium Fellowship Project: Iya at'omo- Mother and Child

Iya'at omo is a project coined from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, which means "mother and child." It primarily targets women and mothers. This study primarily targeted a subgroup of the population in Ido Ekiti, Nigeria. This initiative was completed by organizing health seminars for women and sharing brochures to effectively spread knowledge.

About the Millennium Fellow

Folashade Oluwapelumi is a final year medical student in Afe Babalola University, Nigeria . She is passionate art and women's health and reproductive rights. Folashade wishes to protect the rights of women by creating awareness especially in rural areas. She is dedicated to empower women to advocate for themselves. Being actively involved in health promotion organizations and serving as a Public Relations Officer for her department association showcases her leadership and communication skills. In her free time she loves to swim and draw which adds a creative touch to her pursuits. Her multifaceted interests and commitments paint a vibrant picture of a driven individual making a positive impact in the medical and social spheres.
