Millennium Fellowship Project: Iya at'omo- Mother and Child
Iya'at omo is a project coined from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, which means "mother and child." It primarily targets women and mothers. This study primarily targeted a subgroup of the population in Ido Ekiti, Nigeria. This initiative was completed by organizing health seminars for women and sharing brochures to effectively spread knowledge.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hunu Gwatana is a bright and young globally competitive final year medical and surgery student at the prestigious Afebabalola University. She was born in Abuja Nigeria, resides in Lokoja, Kogi state and is currently studying in Ekiti state, Nigeria. A patriotic citizen, willing to extend this beyond the shores of her country. For as long as she could remember, Hunu has always been passionate about fostering innovations, soaring beyond limitations and ensuring a clean and safe environment. This drive translated itself into Hunu’s engagement in the international community, to foster her continuous global dedication to such social actions. In her high school and currently college years, she has participated in various awareness programs which she plans to continue in the future. Hunu aspires to be in a professional field where she can cultivate these advocacies further and provide her own contribution in the United nation’s sustainable goals.
