UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT ANIKA NAWAR JAHAN, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2024.
University of Chittagong | Chattogram, Bangladesh | Advancing SDG 3 & UNAI 9

" As a Millennium Fellow, I am going to collaborate with people who are as passionate about changing the world as I am, which is why I am so thrilled about it. Doing something great for society, developing leadership skills, and making a global network among like-minded people are all made possible by the fellowship. I believe we can all work together to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations to build a more equitable world. I think this fellowship will enhance my capability to have an impact on making the world sustainable. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: BreatheEasy
BreatheEasy is a community-driven project aimed at improving indoor air quality and reducing air pollution at the household level. Inspired by the growing health issues caused by air pollution, such as asthma and allergies, this project focuses on providing simple, cost-effective solutions to improve indoor air. The four main solutions include using air-purifying indoor plants, eco-friendly stoves, natural air purifiers like activated charcoal, and reducing VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) exposure through better product choices.
The project is carried out through a mix of online and offline activities. Initially, I used a Google Form to gather feedback and raise awareness, followed by distributing educational posters. After receiving feedback, I engaged directly with the community by visiting homes, distributing printed materials, and explaining how they can improve their indoor air quality. My goal was to reach at least 300 people and encourage them to adopt healthier living practices, contributing to a cleaner environment.
