Millennium Fellowship Project: Teach-Each
The “Teach-Each” project, led by Millennium fellows of Gulu university, aims to empower pupils holistically by focusing on health knowledge, career guidance, and environmental conservation. During this phase, we engaged over 300 pupils at Manuel Junior School, impacting their knowledge on personal hygiene, lifestyle habits to prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and environmental stewardship. Key activities included health seminars, career talks, and tree planting. Four trees were planted as a symbolic and practical step toward environmental conservation. With minimal challenges, the project successfully achieved its objectives, and plans are underway to extend its reach to other schools in the community.
About the Millennium Fellow
Emmanuella Cynthia Apiyo is a young intelligent results driven and goal oriented student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Food bioscience and agribusiness at Gulu University. She was born in Gulu, Uganda where she currently lives and is having her education.
Driven by the devastating state of food security and agribusiness in Northern Uganda, she has developed the urge to be part of the change that would improve the lives of the people in society.
Emmanuella is currently pursuing a course in this field and she is confident that she has acquired skills and knowledge about various food processing techniques and marketing of agriproducts. This has also been possible because she ia a member of the Food Science Club and has received certification as a horticulture farmer.
With this, she has been part of the development of different food prototypes and recipes for example organic juices and Borassus Palm flavor baked products.
Emmanuella gretly aspires to be in a professional field where she can create a great impect on society and strongly believes the Millennium Fellowship will contribute to the attainment of this goal.
