" So currently I'm focused on socio-legal work and my aim of doing it is somewhere personal because my family and neighbors don't know how many rights and powers they have, they feel like we are bound to follow all laws and questioning them will bring trouble for them but I want to tell them and show them, no law is for us and we are not for law. Here I want to add quotation that we have tagline of our NGO, Kashmir law Circle that is, "Everyone is Protected by Law, Be Aware, Be Safe"... "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering Communities Through Legal Awareness for Reduced Inequalities
My project under the Millennium Fellowship, aligned with SDG-10 (Reduced Inequalities), focuses on creating a "Legal Awareness Booklet" to address the lack of legal knowledge in communities. Through my work with Kashmir Law Circle, I realized that many individuals are unaware of their fundamental rights, duties, and welfare policies. This booklet will simplify essential laws and regulations, making them accessible to the public and NGOs working on socio-legal issues. It will also include engaging elements like amazing facts to make it appealing. The booklet will be distributed during awareness campaigns and to students, with plans for an exam to encourage learning. While collaboration with Kashmir Law Circle is ongoing, the project requires financial support and is open for partnerships and contributions. The goal is to empower individuals with knowledge and reduce inequalities in society.
