Millennium Fellowship Project: The Green Walk Initiative
The Green Walk Initiative is a community-led awareness project focused on promoting clean energy, reducing household carbon emission and mitigating climate change. We empower households and communities to make informed choices about their energy usage and environmental impact. The Green Walk Initiative educate, engage and empower households in local communities on clean energy options by providing clean cookstove options, mitigation strategies and educating them on sustainable practices.
About the Millennium Fellow
Mary Ayoola is a dynamic chemical engineering student at Ladoke Akintola University with a passion for energy access, sustainability, community development and transformational leadership. She has a vision to propel Africa to the forefront of global development.
In her student leadership journey, she is the pioneer Vice President of SPE LAUTECH, also leading the Union of Campus Journalists as Vice President, gaining insights into accountable media for government policies.
Beyond academia, her experience as a beauty queen taught me the value of transformational leadership blending grace with grit with a strong commitment to drive change.
