" "Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship fuels my curiosity about the world and my desire to understand and address its challenges. As a girl navigating this journey, I am passionate about female empowerment and ensuring that young girls have the support and opportunities they need to survive and lead." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Community Volunteer Connect
Our mission is to bridge the gap between local nonprofit organizations in need of volunteers and college students seeking meaningful community engagement. As students transition into new environments, they often face a loss of community, contributing to rising levels of anxiety and depression. We aim to accelerate students' immersion into their local neighborhoods through volunteering, which not only enhances mental well-being but also fulfills service requirements for student organizations. By creating a central hub for grassroots nonprofits to list opportunities, we will foster impactful connections where student contributions can make a tangible difference. Leveraging university partnerships and outreach, we strive to expand this initiative, starting with Northeastern University and eventually serving other institutions, ensuring that students engage deeply with their communities rather than larger, resource-heavy organizations.
