" My heart is deeply committed to animal welfare, driven by a belief that every animal deserves care and compassion. My commitment to this cause was ignited by a heart wrenching incident involving a stray kitten, which showed me the importance of compassion and action. I want to be the person who not only believes in the welfare of animals but also takes concrete steps to make a difference. Becoming a Millennium Fellow will provide me with the support and platform to expand my project, raise awareness, and inspire others to join this crucial cause. Together, we can ensure that every animal receives the care and respect they deserve. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Voice for the Voiceless: Animal Well-Being
Voice for the Voiceless: Animal Welfare is a project done to improve the welfare and safety of animals, specifically stray dogs. The goal was to improve the perception of how people view the stray dogs by stressing the importance of treating them with kindness and compassion. We want to create awareness on animal welfare, to generate a sense of shared responsibility within our society, and to create a culture of compassion and love toward them. So we conducted the project in collaboration with Stray Dogs Population Control Center (SDPCC). The main focus of our project was to rescue stray dogs, provide them with shelter and vaccinate them for rabies. We also raised awareness about animal first aid, their protection and safety by inviting vets, all this through seminars arranged by the millennium fellows and volunteers. We also arranged a Volunteering program in collaboration with Stray Dogs Population Control Center (SDPCC). In conclusion, the project helped us and people around us to gain more knowledge and understanding of stray dogs living in the streets of Pakistan and encouraged us to deal with them politely, as they are silent souls seeking kindness; treating them with compassion reflects the humanity within us.
