" I'm thrilled to be a part of the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2024. This is a huge step to actualizing my dream of being a globally recognized advocate for environmental rights and climate action. The earth is our collective responsibility and we ought to do everything within our capacity to keep it safe for ourselves and the future generations. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Enugu 500 Tree Planting Project

The Enugu 500 Tree Planting Project is a project led by Let's Speak Africa, a climate advocacy organization. This project aims to combat the adverse effects of climate change within Enugu State, Nigeria, where environmental degradation and biodiversity loss have become the order of the day.
Currently, Enugu State faces increasing environmental issues, including deforestation, soil erosion, and loss of biodiversity, which contribute to climate change. The project addresses these issues through the promotion of reforestation and environmental literacy.
The primary goal of the project is to plant 500 trees in primary and secondary schools within the Enugu-North Local Government Area. Additionally, the project aims to educate the students on the importance of environmental protection and climate action.
