United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Connecting Mind, Body, and Mental Well-Being

Connecting Mind, Body, and Mental Well-Being
*Age Group:* School children (ages 12-18)
*Program Objective:*
1. Educate students about mental health, depression, and suicide prevention.
2. Promote emotional well-being, self-awareness, and resilience.
3. Foster a supportive school environment.
*Program Structure:*
Module 1: Introduction to Mental Health 1. Define mental health and its importance
2. Discuss common mental health issues (anxiety, depression)
3. Introduce the concept of emotional well-being
Module 2: Understanding Emotions 1. Identify and express emotions
2. Recognize emotional triggers and responses
3. Practice emotional regulation techniques (deep breathing, mindfulness)
Module 3: Depression and Suicide Prevention 1. Define depression and its symptoms
2. Discuss suicide prevention and warning signs
3. Counseling
Module 4: Building Resilience 1. Develop coping strategies (problem-solving, positive thinking)
2. Foster self-esteem and confidence
3. Encourage self-care practices (exercise, sleep, nutrition)
Module 5: Support Systems 1. Identify trusted adults (parents, teachers, counselors)
2. Discuss importance of social connections and friendships
3. Introduce school counseling services
Module 6: Mind-Body Connection
1. Explore the link between physical and mental health
2. Discuss healthy habits (exercise, nutrition, sleep)
3. Introduce relaxation techniques (yoga, meditation)

*Assessment and Evaluation:*
1. Pre- and post-program surveys

About the Millennium Fellow

Fabinu Tope Seun is a bright ,talented young man born into the family of Mr and Mrs fabinu who happens to be the second child out of 7 children born on 18/01/1996 currently a fifth year medical student in Ambrose Alli University where he started his career in public health and social developmental goals in achieving the fulfillment of good health and family well being
