Millennium Fellowship Project: C-RESQ Campus Resque
C-RESQ is a smart campus safety and emergency alert system designed to strengthen the resilience of schools and higher institutions against emergencies such as fire outbreaks, flooding, medical crises, and security threats. The solution addresses the long-standing challenge of delayed reporting, poor communication channels, and lack of coordinated response mechanisms in educational environments.
The system integrates three core components:
1. A mobile application for instant incident reporting, alert notifications, and location-based information.
2. An IVR emergency hotline that allows users to report emergencies through automated voice menus, ensuring accessibility even without internet connectivity.
3. IoT-enabled sensors for detecting environmental hazards like smoke, gas leaks, fire, or rising water levels, enabling timely automated alerts.
C-RESQ provides students, staff, and administrators with a unified communication and response platform. Users can quickly report incidents, receive real-time alerts, and track updates, while administrators access a centralized dashboard to monitor reports, verify incidents, and coordinate timely intervention.
By combining digital communication tools, automation, and early-warning capabilities, C-RESQ aims to reduce response times, prevent escalation of emergencies, and promote safer learning environments. The project is designed to be scalable, allowing deployment across different campuses and communities to strengthen public safety and emergency preparedness.
