Millennium Fellowship Project: EduGo
Most girls in rural communities use paper and clothes during menstruation, which is unhygienic. Students in these communities have no access to opportunities for academic and career growth.
EduGo is a youth-led initiative focused on mentoring and supporting young boys and girls in rural communities by enhancing access to education and opportunities, promoting awareness of climate change, and advancing health education with an emphasis on menstrual hygiene. The project seeks to empower students with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities they need to build better futures while encouraging environmentally sustainable and health-conscious lifestyles. Through mentorship, educational outreach, and community engagement, EduGo aims to nurture informed and responsible young leaders who can create positive change in their communities.
During the fellowship period, EduGo aims to strengthen its mentorship and educational support programs by expanding engagement with rural schools and community groups. The team will promote environmental awareness through school-based activities and community dialogues on climate change and sustainability. In addition, the project will enhance menstrual hygiene education by organizing sessions that promote health, confidence, and access to safe hygiene practices among girls. EduGo will also work to build local partnerships and develop a system for monitoring progress to ensure long-term impact and continuity of the initiative.
