" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it gives me the platform to turn my passion for education into real change for my tea garden community, contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and gain the skills and creativity needed to make a lasting social impact.” "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Tea Roots to Rise
This project aims to support the education of underprivileged children in tea garden communities by providing learning materials, mentorship, and a safe space to grow. Our goal is to give every child a fair chance to learn, dream, and build a better future.
About the Millennium Fellow
I am Suranjana Jadab, an undergraduate student at the Asian University for Women, Bangladesh, currently in my first year of study. Growing up in a tea garden community, I have witnessed firsthand the barriers to education faced by underprivileged children. As the founder of Tea Roots to Rise, I am dedicated to improving access to quality education through mentorship, learning resources, and safe spaces. I aspire to contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially Quality Education, by empowering marginalized communities.
