" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it will connect me with a global network of passionate change-makers. It will open my mind to new perspectives and new ways of thinking. I believe creativity grows when we learn from each other. I do this work to match my skills with the SDGs. I use technology and empathy to bridge gaps and to empower communities. I want to create innovations that matter. Through this fellowship, I will see my ideas through a global lens. I will work to turn them into action that is sustainable and impactful. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Care Through Meals

The purpose of the project 'Care through Meals' is to provide nutritious meals for widowed elderly residents in care facilities. In our local community, widowed elderly people are one of the most vulnerable groups who are often deprived of the basic right of having nutritious meals and often receive minimal care and diet from social support system. So we intend to provide them with healthy meals and give them strength as well as sense of care. We intend to raise awareness through social media about the challenges of the widowed elderly people in care facilities and collect funds through our donation website to continue arranging healthy meals for the widowed elderly community. The project aligns with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 11 ( Sustainable Cities and Communities).

About the Millennium Fellow

Al Mumit Siddiqui is a passionate and creative Computer Science student from Bangladesh whose journey began with an enthusiasm for technology and innovation. Over time, he discovered how interconnected people’s lives are and realized that his skills could be used to strengthen communities and create impact that lasts. This inspired him to adopt a humanitarian approach, seeing it as a responsibility rather than a choice. He has led ground-level cohorts, directly engaging with diverse communities, and launched projects that bridge gaps using technology to help those in need. His work includes developing a platform for social workers and community members to share concerns, initiating programs to identify mental health issues in children, and designing interactive, human-centered approaches for Bangladeshi schools. Through every initiative, he strives to be a change-maker, using innovation as a tool for empathy, connection, and sustainable progress.
