Millennium Fellowship Project: STEM Advocacy for Girls
Our project is all about empowering girls and letting them know there is a space for them to occupy in STEM. A big space as a matter of fact. we do this by mentoring them, organizing workshops for them that allow them to develop interests in STEM. Our main goal is to provide opportunities for these girls to thrive in fields where they are underrepresented and professions that people believe only men can thrive in
About the Millennium Fellow
Zainab Umar Augie is a cybersecurity student at Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, passionate about leveraging technology to drive social impact and bridge the digital divide. She actively engages in STEM outreaches, youth development programs, and initiatives empowering girls in education, healthcare, and justice. As a Millennium Fellow, Zainab is working to advance digital literacy and cyber awareness in underserved communities. She envisions a future where technology is a tool for equity, security, and sustainable development across Africa.
