Millennium Fellowship Project: Self-Defense Training for Girls Against Bad Touch
My project focuses on empowering girls aged from 12-22 by teaching them self-defense skills and raising awareness about bad touch. The aim is to equip girls with both the physical techniques and the confidence to protect themselves in potentially dangerous situations. The self-defense training will include a variety of martial arts techniques such as Taekwondo and basics of Karate. These techniques will help girls learn how to defend themselves in different situations, with a focus on strikes, blocks, and escape methods. We'll also include practical skills like how to break free from an attacker’s hold and how to create space in threatening environments. Along with the physical training, the project will provide education on recognizing and responding to bad touch. Girls will learn about personal boundaries, the importance of saying no, and how to assert themselves confidently. We’ll also discuss the importance of speaking up and seeking help when needed. The goal of the project is to ensure that girls feel equipped and confident to protect themselves while also understanding their rights and boundaries. By combining practical self-defense techniques with awareness training, we hope to empower girls to feel safe and secure in all environments.
