" "I am deeply passionate about making quality education accessible to all. I believe education is the foundation for equality and empowerment, enabling individuals to break cycles of poverty and unlock their potential. I have been fortunate to receive guidance and opportunities that shaped my journey, and I want to extend the same support to others. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I hope to contribute to creating learning opportunities that inspire, empower, and transform communities." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Building Futures Through Words
Building Futures Through Words is a community based education project whose goal is to improve basic English and Mathematics among children between the age of 5 and 12 in low income areas in Bangalore. The project creates small learning pods (10-12 students each) within local childcare facilities based on the teaching techniques of playful, low-cost and volunteer-led learning to make learning fun and affordable. By focusing on basic english, basic numeracy, storytelling, and interactive games, the program provides early learners with the confidence and curiosity needed to succeed in school. The project supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and is in line with the UNAI principle of Education for All. Ultimately, the aim is to develop a sustainable and replicable model that other communities can adopt to make foundational learning accessible and engaging.
