" As a girl , you are challenged everyday by the society and it's people. They never let you feel equal or valuable but you are reminded everyday that you are a girl , you are not equal, you can do nothing except the household chores. So from my childhood it was my dream to prove myself, to make my parents feel proud. It's a slap for those who told my father once that you have two daughters and they are your liability. So this selection means alot for me .
And I do what I do because it makes me feel responsible enough. When I go to bed at night I feel satisfied that at least I am contributing my society. I don't want to sit like a bean bag at home . "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering through education

My project was about empowering through education. In Kashmir and I believe in major parts of the third world countries children suffer to get their basic education especially a girl child . I researched about it how i can help students/ children so what I did was i applied for a job of a coordinator in an NGO . They interviewed me and after some days I got the confirmation mail . The NGO name is Hope works foundation. It's original branch is in Bangalore and they have 13 other branches all across India . This was there first branch in Kashmir. They basically bare all the educational funds of a girl child . They ensure that it all is taken care . Not only that there is a sunday session every week held by my senior and me online with the banglore team . First I created google forms , sent them in different groups and on online platforms I got 210 registrations . According to the eligibility criteria i could only select 50 out of them as clearly all of them didn't need the scholarship. Then there was an interview round for the girls about 30 girls came for interview. I made it very clear to each and every girl that it is mandatory to attend the Sunday session every week transportation fee and food will be taken care of by us . Out of those 30 only 14 were confirmed.
We are running this program currently. In our sunday session we teach them about AI and other new rising technologies.
