" Empathy and storytelling, grounded in design thinking, drive my art and my advocacy. Being a Millennium Fellow will allow me to collaborate with like minded change makers to address social inequalities, including caste system discrimination, through creative and impactful design. The skills I gain will amplify my ability to create sustainable, inclusive projects that support local artisans and empower marginalized communities. I am excited to align my work with the UNAI principles and SDGs, envisioning innovative ways to merge creativity with social change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Bound By Birth

I first got the idea of this project after reading stories of stolen childhood by Anees Jung it mentioned how the kid was bound to be a bangle maker, and he was not allowed to choose any other profession. That's how Bound by Birth started, I am exploring the part where people never really got to choose their profession but majorly how they never even thought about choosing one. How caste, community and family define someone's role in the society. I am using my skill of filmmaking in this project to document it and create awareness. The first part of this series is called Hands of Clay, and it based on the lives on potters in a city like Delhi. I am using YouTube as the major platform for posting these documentaries.
