United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Herhealthinitiative

HerHealthInitiative empowers women with knowledge about reproductive health, focusing on conditions like PCOS, fibroids, and menstrual health. The project raises awareness, provides practical guidance, and breaks the stigma around seeking care. Through outreach and education, it equips women to recognize symptoms, access healthcare resources, and make informed health decisions, fostering a healthier and more informed community

About the Millennium Fellow

Demilade Awonusi is a driven and globally minded medical student at Eko University of Medicine in Nigeria. Passionate about women’s health, global health, and youth leadership, she has dedicated herself to advancing healthcare access and awareness across Africa. Demilade’s creativity extends into entrepreneurship, where she explores event design and 3D motion graphics as tools for innovation and impact. Her diverse pursuits reflect her commitment to merging science, creativity, and advocacy to address pressing global challenges. With aspirations in global health diplomacy, she aims to contribute meaningfully to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and inspire transformative change.
