United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Opportunities for All
This project is a collaborative effort between some members of my campus and it centers around bridging the gap between the opportunities the influential would get and those the non-influential individuals would receive. Our plans include sourcing for scholarship opportunities as well as online certification programmes that would be free to apply to, to enable to masses come an inch or two closer to the top 1% they rever so much.
Within the allocated time frame, we would be able to find these opportunities and speak to one or two public schools regarding these opportunities
About the Millennium Fellow
Omoniyi Oluwapelumi, a final-year medical student(600 level) at Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences, stands out as an exemplary young leader in the medical community. Currently serving as the Financial Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA) and the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) in her institution(NIMSA-MWAN), she has consistently demonstrated integrity, dedication, and organizational excellence in her roles.
Known for her meticulous attention to detail and transparent handling of responsibilities, Oluwapelumi embodies the values of accountability and trustworthiness. She approaches every task with a blend of professionalism and empathy, ensuring that the welfare of her colleagues remains a priority. Her ability to manage resources effectively, communicate clearly, and foster teamwork reflects her qualities.
Beyond her official duties, Oluwapelumi is deeply committed to the growth and empowerment of others, inspiring her peers through her hard work and positive attitude. Oluwapelumi also intends to leverage the Fellowship’s global network to exchange ideas, learn innovative strategies, and develop projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to health, gender equality, and quality education. Through this opportunity, she hopes to inspire other young medical students to become agents of change, blending professional expertise with a deep commitment to social good.
