The Bright Futures Initiative aimed to promote the importance of women’s education in Balochistan.
The project focused on creating awareness, encouraging families, sharing educational resources,
and inspiring young girls to stay in school.
During the Millennium Fellowship, my project successfully increased awareness about the importance of women’s education in Balochistan. My main goal was to motivate families and young girls to view education as a necessity, not a choice. I conducted a community workshop, a motivation circle for girls, and created an educational resource booklet containing scholarship information and inspirational stories of educated Baloch women.
Compared to my original goals, the project achieved more engagement than expected. I reached a total of 84 people, including parents, girls, and local youth volunteers. Many families expressed increased willingness to support their daughters’ schooling, and several girls shared that the sessions gave them confidence to continue their education.
