United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Shobujer Bhashay Bhobisshoter Ashay

Shobujer Bhashay Bhobisshoter Ashay
- In the Language of Green, With the Hope of the Future
This project is to promote sustainable environment and raise environmental awareness among peoples in the town of Dhaka and local community members especially targeting the youth. The project, which was inspired by SDGs 15 (Life on Land) and 13 (Climate Action), focuses on soil health,composting,tree plantation & waste management. The project highlights that protecting the environment is a civic duty as well as a moral and religious obligation in faith based communities. The project encourages people to take little but significant actions toward ecological restoration through interactive sessions, real-life demonstration, and community involvement. Some key activities are-
i. Awareness workshops at Schools, coaching centers and community spaces.
ii. Practical examples of recycling organic waste and composting iii. Discussions on sustainable agriculture, soil health, and minimizing the use of chemicals.
iv. Tree plantation events with students and local community members.
v. Faith based awareness programs highlighting environmental teaching. More than 300 people have been impacted by the project. Many participants have shown commitment to practicing composting at home, planting trees, and reducing waste. Teachers, community elders and religious leaders also promised to keep raising awareness of environmental issues in their institutions.
By providing youth and communities with information,motivation and useful actions, this project aims to create a greener,cleaner and more sustainable future. "Shobujer Bhashay Bhobisshoter Ashay" aims to remind everyone through this Fellowship journey that: "If we take responsibility today, the next generation will remember us as the protector of nature."

About the Millennium Fellow

Md. Redowan Ahmed is an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Agriculture, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Bangladesh. He is passionate about rural youth development and dedicated to promoting climate-resilient agriculture. His research interests include agripreneurship, the role of social media in agricultural development and climate-smart technologies and Techniques.
As a Millennium Fellow, he aims for United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by climate action fostering awareness and bridging the gap between traditional & modern farming techniques.
