" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because this program provides me with the opportunity to collaborate and network with like minded individuals who are driven to make an impact. I stand with the LGBTQIA++ groups and this fellowship will give me motivation and chance to make our campus and educational institutions more inclusive and equal towards individuals of all identities and orientations. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Voices for All Genders
Voices for All Genders program will be a program dedicated to the empowerment of LGBTQIA++ individuals. Since, we know, in many countries like India the Queer community is underrepresented, discriminated and even harassed in multiple fields be it work, housing, adoption or anything else. The program will focus mainly on two crucial initiatives: 1.Mandatory Queer Collectives/Societies in Colleges: Every college will be required to establish a safe and inclusive queer collective or society where LGBTQIA++ students can find support, share their voices, and create awareness campaigns. These collectives will serve as epicenters for open dialogue, inclusivity, and empowerment. 2. Inclusive LGBTQIA++ Curriculum: A mandatory curriculum in colleges will educate students about LGBTQIA++ terms, histories, struggles, and contributions. By normalizing discussions on gender diversity and sexual orientation in classrooms, the program will aim to eradicate ignorance, break stereotypes, and cultivate empathy and inclusivity among the youth. Since we all know that to instill such revolutionary measures we have to work from the very grassroot levels! By making college students our main areas of interest we would be creating future ready individuals who would pioneers for change in our society.
