UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT YIQI GAO, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
Johns Hopkins University | Maryland, United States | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 10 & UNAI 8

" The opportunity to work with like-minded peers and engage in meaningful dialogue most excites me about being a Millennium Fellow. I look forward to incorporating the suggestions and perspectives of others into expanding equity and inclusion within Maryland's Science Competitions. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Maryland Science Olympiad
I am coordinating the efforts of Hopkins students as test writers and tournament volunteers in local science Olympiad tournaments. I aim to work with local organizers to develop a network of tournaments that inner city kids in Baltimore can use to participate in science projects and competitions.
About the Millennium Fellow

At Johns Hopkins University, he has contributed to educational outreach through leadership in the Maryland Science Olympiad, where he guided coaches and supervised events for dozens of student teams, as well as mentored middle and high schoolers on various science-related topics through the Splash program. Outside of classes and volunteering, Jack works at the Mumm lab where he investigates retinal ganglion cell regeneration in zebrafish and maintains a tropical fish tank in his apartment.
