ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2025

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Climate Action Initiative

Climate Action Initiative is a project led by Millennium Fellow Muhammad Daied Shah. It addresses the urgent issue of Climate Change by raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices within the local community. The project aims to engage youth and community members through interactive workshops, awareness campaigns, and environmental activities, encouraging collective responsibility for the planet.
The goals i hope to achieve within August to December 2025 are as follows:
Conduct at least three workshops on climate awareness and sustainable living.
Launch a community tree-planting or clean-up initiative involving at least 30 participants.
Reach a minimum of 100 community members through online campaigns and in-person activities.
Encourage participants to adopt at least one sustainable habit, such as reducing single-use plastics, conserving water, or planting trees.

About the Millennium Fellow

Muhammad Daied Shah is a passionate and driven law student at the University of Kashmir. Born and raised in Srinagar, India, he is committed to advancing global accountability and advocating for reforms in international institutions to ensure they serve humanity rather than narrow interests. Muhammad has dedicated his academic journey and leadership efforts to promoting democratic governance at the global level. Through his Millennium Fellowship project, he aims to raise awareness, foster dialogue and inspire action towards more inclusive and equitable international systems.
