Millennium Fellowship Project: COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING WITH ICT MONITORING
This project involves planting trees in different local primary schools to increase green cover and promote environmental awareness among students. Community volunteers, teachers, and pupils actively participates in planting and caring for the trees. ICT tools, such as GPS mapping and mobile data collection apps, are used to monitor tree survival and growth. The project contributes to climate action, biodiversity conservation, and youth engagement in environmental stewardship.
About the Millennium Fellow
Karen tairi, is an Environmental Studies and Community Development student based in Nairobi, Kenya. Passionate about sustainability and social impact, she has actively engaged in tree planting, watershed management, and community greening initiatives. Karen is committed to empowering communities through environmental education, climate action, and sustainable resource management. Her work reflects a deep dedication to creating a greener future while fostering community resilience and development.
