" If one man helps one person, change is gradual, but if each man helps another, a domino effect is put in place. Millennium Fellowship is going to enable that domino effect to happen giving me a voice, a team and guidance. Exposure to different ideas and a sense of accountability will define my work so that it's tangible, or it's impact to be felt and seen. "

About the Millennium Fellow

Kusiima Jemimah is a vibrant 22 year old medicine student at kampala international university in Uganda.
Jemimah was born in a well to do family and experienced the best life for the first 3 years of her life and all changed suddenly and randomly. She then became silent, a passive participant in life and lost her spark. 2 years ago she lost her her sister to silence and then her mental health went down a hill, but through a lot of effort by friends and family she's here to now advocate for the mental health of many who think silence is the only way to lessen the pain and burying feelings is the only way to go through life. She believes it's hard to go through life believing two opinions, one the world tells you and that silent voice saying 'your not enough.'
She advocates for campus students who are on the brink of giving up on life, reminds them of the power they hold and that better days are yet to come.
