United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: PROJECT RED

PROJECT RED is a youth-centered outreach project aimed at addressing tramadol
abuse among Ghanaian youth. The initiative focuses on education, awareness
campaigns, and community engagement to empower young people with knowledge
and healthier alternatives while reducing stigma around seeking help.
Measurable Goals (August–December 2025):
Reach at least 1,000 youth through school and community sensitization programs.
Host major awareness campaigns in partnership with local organizations and health
professionals.
Train 50 peer educators to serve as ambassadors against tramadol abuse.
Develop and distribute 500 educational materials (flyers, posters, and digital content).
Establish a baseline and follow-up survey to measure shifts in awareness and attitudes
toward tramadol use.

About the Millennium Fellow

Amoako George is a junior-year Nursing student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Data Science trainee with ALX Africa. Passionate about the future of precision medicine in Africa, he blends healthcare knowledge with technology to create impactful solutions. An avid chess player and book lover, George enjoys challenging his mind both on and off the board. His goal is to advance health research, harness data for better patient outcomes, and inspire innovation in underserved communities.
