" Access to technology opens doors, but only if the systems behind it work. I’m focused on building solutions that are reliable, practical and grounded in real-world experience. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: AccessLab Tech

AccessLab Tech is a community focused initiative aimed at introducing young people, especially girls, to digital skills early. The project was inspired by my own experience seeing how access to technology shapes opportunities, starting from those closest to me.
It begins with small, practical workshops that expose participants to areas like design, programming, cybersecurity and cloud computing. Beyond introduction, the goal is to build long-term capacity through mentorship, tools, and guidance toward education and career pathways.
AccessLab Tech is not just about learning, it is about building a community of individuals who can grow, collaborate, and eventually contribute to solving real world problems using technology.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sandra Mensah is a Ghanaian technologist and emerging builder working at the intersection of digital infrastructure and energy systems. She began her journey during Ghana’s national grid digitisation project, where she saw firsthand how gaps between recorded data and physical reality affect trust, planning and service delivery. This experience led her to found GridLens, a system focused on improving infrastructure data integrity. She also leads AccessLab Tech, an initiative introducing young people, especially girls, to digital skills. Sandra is driven by a simple goal: to build systems that work not just in theory, but in reality.
