United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: ValueALady
ValueALady is a project led by Millennium Fellow Joseph Bassey. This approach brings boys and girls together to learn about menstruation, puberty, and respectful relationships. Instead of perpetuating division, it builds understanding and empathy between genders in middle school before harmful attitudes solidify. During the Millennium Fellowship period of 2025, project ValueALady will be aiming to reach about 100 adolescents in physical meetups at schools.
About the Millennium Fellow
Joseph Bassey is a driven and intelligent Computer Science student at Lagos State University, Ojo. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, he is passionate about creating impact in his community, particularly in advocating for women and driving awareness through public speaking. Raised in a female-dominated extended family, Joseph’s upbringing shaped his empathy and perspective. His deep interest in technology and how it shapes the world led him to pursue his current major. From high school to university, he has consistently sought out communities and collaborations that empower him to build, lead, and create meaningful change through innovation and tech.
