" I am incredibly excited about the prospect of becoming a Millennium Fellow. My passion for social impact stems from a desire to address the tangible problems I see within my community. I believe the Millennium Fellowship will provide the perfect platform to transform this passion into practical, actionable skills. The program's focus on leadership development, strategic planning, and community mobilization is precisely what I need to move from identifying problems to implementing sustainable solutions.
I am eager to learn how to effectively manage social impact projects, build and inspire collaborative teams, and create measurable change. I want to move beyond simply having good intentions to truly understanding the nuances of problem-solving—from gathering resources and engaging stakeholders to executing a clear, impactful strategy. This fellowship is not just about personal development; it's about gaining the tools to make a lasting contribution to the world, and I am ready to embrace that challenge. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Flow Without Fear
Flow Without Fear is a project that targets adolescence/secondary school girls at rural communities or public secondary schools. It’s all about educating and helping girls in these underserved communities learn about their periods in a healthy, open way, and making sure they have what they need to manage them safely. Many girls miss school during their periods because they can’t afford pads or feel embarrassed about it. I want to solve this problem by organizing interactive and fun workshops, where we talk honestly about menstrual health, particularly the alarm symptoms that could be indicative of disease processes of female reproductive system; clear up common myths, and teach how to make reusable pads. We’ll also give out reusable pad kits and train some active students to keep the teaching going and provide them a means they could contact us even after the project ends. This project is in-line with SDGs (3 & 5).
