" Millennium Fellowship offers an opportunity for me to learn from my peer and those with much experience, expanding my sphere of knowledge and understanding that will help me much in applying.
I believe with this, my impact to my community with the health issues I am addressing, will be effective. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Plastic Action Project
Plastic Action Project is a student-led initiative at LUANAR aimed at combating plastic pollution in Mitundu community. From September to December 2025, we will conduct a baseline survey to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices on plastic management, implement targeted awareness campaigns with hands-on activities, and then carry out a follow-up survey to measure change. Our measurable goal is to reach at least 500 community members, achieve a 40% increase in correct plastic-waste handling practices, and establish at least one active community group championing sustainable plastic management.
