Millennium Fellowship Project: Being The Role Model
My project is to address SDG 5 on Gender equality, majorly focusing on primary school children to encourage them to think big in terms of their future and who they want. Well this is mostly because I had observed from my village community that only a few manage to get to university or manage to get out of the county they grew in. It is not to ignore that their are financial problems, family problems and many more problems but I believe if one dreams further and works towards it , their will always be help to help brighten the light in him or her. In summary I would just want the kids from the community I came from view the world differently regardless of their gender in order to create an equal environment for everyone to feel like they belong and matter.
About the Millennium Fellow
Daisy Nafula Nyongesa is a beautiful, dedicated pharmacy student. She was born in Kenya , Bungoma county and now studies at Maseno university but resides in kakamega county. There has been always a fire burning in her heart to be there for her community especially after she joined campus and looked back only to notice that her primary classmates are not at her level. It's a sad situation and gas always looked forward to be there for the next generation. She is very elated to have this opportunity at Millennium Fellowship.
