" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it’s a space where passion meets purpose and it's a chance to transform ideas into action and create change that outlives me, which is one of greatest desire. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sensitization on Prevalent Illnesses

We saw the need to implement this project after our church conducted a survey among the congregants on how educated they were when it came to matters health. We managed to be part of the team which was collecting data via questionnaires and it was shocking that only a few had little knowledge about the monster illnesses which faced the community every other time.Being a group of medical students, this project aligns exactly with our career and so we are at a better position if not the best, to ensure that we address these common diseases in the human race at this point in time. The prevalence of diseases like: tuberculosis, malaria, cholera, typhoid, diabetes and schistosomiasis just to mention but a few, is worrying! The community is in pitch darkness on matters public health, a crisis that ought to be solved before we hit another century. Our plan is to take walks around, visit at least every household around us and unpack these crucial prevention measures. We will also strive to get permits in the learning institutions and disseminate the information on the same.
