" I am passionate about how community led health care service initiatives can transform the public health platforms. From my experience as a Uhai Life Sciences Executive Committee member, I have organized campaigns that successful demographic based blood donation drives and campaigns to address essential health care gaps in unaddressed communities. As I had emphasised before, after my graduation I intend to venture into global health care services and programs to contribute to the UN SDGs. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Uhai Life Sciences

My project is Uhai Life Sciences (Swahili for Life) is a health technology company strengthening health systems . Currently, our innovations strengthen blood and blood products supply chain. We have conducted various demographic based blood drives to help curb the issue of severe blood deficit in Kenya's blood banks. We have managed to collect more than 1300 pints of blood. This has gone a long way to save more than 2000 children and patients who do not have relatives to donate it to them. The aim of my project is to bridge the access between willing blood donors in the public and the needy patients in the wards. The implementation of this pilot project will be in line with three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Specifically, it addresses SDG 3: Good health and Wellbeing – by ensuring healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages (including children), SDG 10: Reducing inequalities within and among countries, as well as SDG 17 by strengthening global partnership for implementing sustainable development goals.
