Millennium Fellowship Project: Calorie Heroes

The project Calorie Heroes is a awareness project among school children aged 10-15 about the harmful effects of obesity and diabetes. The project aims to not only make students aware of the diseases but also teach them lifestyle modifications to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This was inculcated in students by talking about the diseases and carrying put activities to help them understand better.

About the Millennium Fellow

Dhanashree Jagtap is a bright, young and hard working medical student at the Malla Reddy Medical College for Women in Hyderabad. She was born in Pune, a city of rich culture and heritage, currently studying in Hyderabad sharing a vastly different culture and language. As a child, she has always dreamt of healing people both mentally and physically. She always believed that a healthy mind and body can help each individual live up to their maximum potential and that a strong nation is built upon its healthy people. This passion, has driven her into studying medicine to truly understand the knowledge and skill of healing. She has dedicated herself to community work and health education to spread awareness about the importance of health and hygiene. Through the Millennium Fellowship she hopes to strengthen her leadership skills and gain global platform to network and showcase her work. This opportunity will help amplify her efforts and her passion for healthcare. This fellowship will provide her with a opportunity to collaborate with like-minded change makers.
