Millennium Fellowship Project: Book Bridge Foundation

Book Bridge is a student-led initiative committed to reducing educational inequality by redistributing old and unused books to underserved communities. Many students in public schools across Nigeria lack access to basic textbooks and learning resources, while countless books lie unused in homes. About 60% of pupils in public schools lack access to books and writing materials. 70% of children in government schools share one book for more than five subjects. Nigeria has over 12.9 million children out of school, and 75% of those in school cannot read well. This crisis means millions of children are left behind in education, even when books that could help are available in communities.
This project bridges that gap by collecting, sorting, and donating books directly to students who need them most. This project aligns with the following SDGs.
SDG 4 (Quality Education): Providing access to textbooks and school materials.
SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities): Targeting underserved schools.
Our target community chosen for the project is Adeniran Grammar School in Ogbomosho. Date for the outreach is 19th November, 2025.
