" UN Millennium Fellowship provides a platform for like-minded young individuals eager to make systematic changes in society to collaborate and interact with one another. By starting at the grassroots level, some novel projects can reach international levels. By drawing inspiration from our cultural heritage and integrating these values into our project aimed at achieving Zero Hunger (SDG 2), we can create meaningful collaborations with people across the globe. Such partnerships not only advance our shared humanitarian goals but also foster deeper interpersonal connections, encourage cultural exchange, and break down barriers—ultimately promoting genuine cultural integration. Consequently, in an era marked by global conflicts and unrest, the fellowship represents a crucial step toward unity and positive change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Aaharasya

Project Aaharasya is a novel initiative undertaken by the students of the National law university, Delhi aimed at addressing the fundamental socio - economic problem of food insecurity. Our ultimate goal is to create a community which can make contributions towards solving this issue. In an attempt to achieve the same, we have established a community with the professed aim of raising awareness and mobilizing people to reduce food wastage, donate to feed those who lack the means and hold meaningful discussions amongst the youth and stakeholders to find sustainable solutions. Herein, we intend to hold a monthly “ langar sewa”, a concept of sikh patronage, which is a form of community kitchen that provides free meals to all, with the aid of the administration and students of the university. Additionally, food insecurity is further perpetuated by lack of access to nutritional food which is prevalent even among classes from higher socioeconomic backgrounds, thereby widening the scope of the vulnerable population. We intend to cater to such a population using online platforms by creating content that spreads awareness about nutrition inculcation in the Indian diet, with the advice from experts from the field.
