" "I first realised how distant justice can feel when I saw an electricity labourer leave court empty-handed, not because she was wrong, but because the system felt impossible to navigate. That moment has stayed with me. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I want to change that by making legal knowledge simple, accessible, and empowering. For me, every workshop or handbook isn't just about information; it’s about dignity and ensuring that no one feels shut out of justice." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Nyaya Shakti
Many people, especially marginalized groups, don’t know their legal rights or how to navigate the justice system. My project will bring legal literacy workshops, free legal aid clinics, and accessible legal guides to underserved communities in Delhi. We’ll teach people how to use laws like the Right to Information (RTI) Act, their workplace rights, and gender-based protections. The project will also distribute translated legal handbooks and connect individuals with free legal support through pop-up legal aid desks. By the end of the Fellowship, we aim to reach 400+ individuals, distribute 100+ legal guides, and host 5+ workshops, ensuring more people can stand up for their rights and access justice.
