" I believe that law is not just a profession but a powerful tool for social transformation. My work focuses on amplifying the voices of vulnerable communities, especially children of drug addicts, and addressing systemic issues through policy and advocacy. The Millennium Fellowship offers me a collaborative platform to refine my skills, expand my impact, and align my efforts with the UNAI principles and SDGs to create sustainable, inclusive change. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: DAYAN
So my project topic is about witch hunting. I chose this topic because since childhood, I used to see incidents of witch crafting in newspapers on a daily basis. I used to wonder and feel sad about why people were doing this, from the very beginning, I wanted to do something about this, but then I got busy with my life this the feeling was reignited in me after I saw a famous case of Baso Oraon who was a 60 years old woman and was murdered after being accused as a witch by the villagers in the village of Khunti district. I have organised some education sessions about witch hunting with the help of my maternal uncle, who is a headmaster of the government school of that village this session was very effective, and I want to organise more such events at a larger level. I also want to work with some local NGOs that I know to make people aware of their rights and this evil practice.
