Millennium Fellowship Project: BreatheSafe
BreatheSafe is a community-driven environmental initiative aimed at making the invisible problem of air pollution visible. The project uses low-cost, portable IoT-based air quality sensors to monitor real-time levels of dust, smoke, and harmful gases in the environment.
It was developed in response to the growing health issues caused by poor air quality, especially affecting children and the elderly who suffer from respiratory problems.
The main goal of BreatheSafe is to deploy multiple sensors across the city, collect live air quality data, and visualize results so that people can make informed decisions about their daily activities. The project also seeks to raise awareness, promote cleaner practices, and influence policy-making for a healthier and more sustainable urban lifestyle.
