" I believe that meaningful change begins at the community level, and the Millennium Fellowship offers the perfect platform to transform ideas into sustainable impact. My work is driven by the belief that access to clean water, sustainable resources, and quality education are not privileges—they are rights. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Drop of Hope

Drop of Hope is a sustainable development initiative under SDG 6 that combines infrastructure improvement, community engagement, and academic capacity building. Through clean water facilities at a rural school and a collaborative Water Treatment Workshop at NUST, the project integrates practical implementation with technical education, promoting long term water security, awareness, and scalable, research-backed solutions for safe water access.

About the Millennium Fellow

I'm Muhammad Anas Bilal, a Third-year Chemical Engineering student at NUST with a strong passion for sustainable development and creating meaningful community impact. Growing up in a village, I experienced firsthand the difficulties of accessing clean water, which inspired my dedication to working on solutions that improve water quality and availability. I recently completed a two-month research project at the Centre for Water Informatics & Technology (WIT), LUMS, where I explored the Namal water system and its sociology to understand the lake ecosystem and its significance to local communities. As Director of AIChE NUST, I apply my leadership skills to initiatives that combine technical expertise with social responsibility, aiming to design innovative, sustainable, and community-centered solutions.
